I enjoy writing long-form (~5000 words) keyboard reviews, such as my Voyager and Glove80 reviews. However, ergo keyboards are expensive, so this hobby gets out of hand quickly. Some people who found these reviews valuable suggested that I add a donation link to fund further keyboards for review 😀. So here it is, the more you donate, the more keyboards I can review.
The following keyboards are currently on my shortlist (in this order):
- Maltron L90 Dual Hand 3D keyboard. This is a decendant of the first commercially-available key well keyboards. Unfortunately, despite the historical importance of this keyboard, there is only very little information available about this keyboard.
- Svalboard
- Kinesis Advantage360 (Pro or non-Pro), second revision with Kailh Quiet Linear switches.
If you have suggestions for other keyboards to review, let me know!
For vendors
If you would like me to review your keyboard, I am interested under the following conditions:
- The keyboard must be split, have a proper palm rest, and support tenting. I don’t want to gamble with my wrist/hand health.
- The initial review will take 2-3 months if I am not preparing another review yet. I think do not think that short-term reviews are interesting – most of the effects on arms, wrists, and hands can only be gauged after a while.
- No loaners. I would like to be able to update a review after gaining more experience after the initial months.
-
The review will be completely independent and there is no go/no-go. However, I will send you a draft to give you the opportunity to rectify errors.
I also like it if I can contact you for questions during the review period, I really want to understand the design choices that went into a keyboard. Different keyboards have different sets of trade-offs and my goal is to help the reader to understand if a particular keyboard is good for them (which also avoids returns as a result of mismatched expectations).
If you are still interested, drop me an e-mail at [email protected].
