My name is Daniël de Kok. I was born in Groningen, The Netherlands, in 1982. Since then I lived in The Netherlands, and a short time in Australia and Germany.
I am a PhD student working in the computational linguistics group at the University of Groningen. My research focuses on text generation from abstract dependency trees. I spend some of my spare time working on free software projects. Besides that I like indoor climbing, reading, listening music, playing guitar, and hanging out with friends.
Although I am not religious, I do practice Vipassana meditation. Politically, I’d classify myself as a green/social libertarian (political compass).
